The Primary School Parents and Friends Association consists of a small but very dedicated group of parents. My role as P and F President is to assist in introducing our Marymount Community to you and to offer information about the Parents and Friends and our function within the school.

All parents are automatic members of the P and F. All of you have a major and valuable contribution to make. Everyone is different, and in times such as these, we all lead busy lives. Some of you will become actively involved in the P and F whilst others will support us by attending our social functions throughout the year. We cannot exist without the contributions of both groups of parents.

As a P and F group we have two major functions. The first is to foster a sense of community and the second is to fund raise. Our fundraising activities include the Marymount Arts Festival and the Marymount Fair. I encourage all members of our school community, students, parents, teachers, caregivers, grandparents and friends to support our children. A little from you goes a long way for them. The money raised supplements the money collected via the P and F Levy in the school fees, and we use these funds to enhance the educational experience of each and every child. Recent expenditure of P and F funds include new DVD players in each classroom and radio / cassette recorders for classrooms. We have also purchased several new digital cameras and video recorders. Our largest project undertaken to date was the completion of the Frank Shine Walk, with over $100 000 contributed towards this project. We also contributed to the new Prep Adventure Playground and to furniture for the school.

As important as the fund raising activities are, just as important is the fostering of a community spirit at Marymount. Throughout the year activities are organised which facilitate the gathering of parents in a social setting. Please refer to the P and F Committee page for more information about this and other school events. Marymount is a tremendous school. Working with us it provides the base of a growing pyramid for our children's future. It is a great school largely because of the supportive staff and parent body.
